Default Faulty electrical goods

Hi
Is anyone clued up on the laws regarding returning faulty goods.I am having a epic battle with pixmania over a faulty Kenwood amplifier and as they are based in France they seem to be on a winner as I just keep getting fobbed off by there call centre.Do any consumer rights count with other countries now we are in the EU?

Good place to start, (in the shopping guide link you can contact trading standards dept. and maybe they can give you further advice)

Did you buy direct i.e over the internet or from a uk distributor ? The reason I ask is that this is critical. The person you paid is the person that you made a contract with. If you ordered from a french company and paid in Euros, you will find that the contract of sale is covered by French Law and I don't know where you stand in that case. The only suggestion I have in this case is if you paid by Credit Card, speak to your card company. They may be able to advise u further and/or dispute the payment.

If u came through a UK distributer then a faulty product is their problem and if they won't sort it out get in touch with trading standards and they should help.

Hope that helps.
