Default willem tsop max232

Hi all just a little help please...
I have just bought a max 232 of flebay what I need to know is what lead do I need to go from the Max232 to my pc/laptop?
Next question
can some one point me in the direction of a willem, I have also looked on flebay and they is loads of different versions will they all work or do i need a certain one, last thing I know your all busy. If I remove the tsop out of the modem do I replace it with a new chip or do i just reprogramme the one I have removed.

Thank you in advance

hi mate, ok, you need a serial cable male to female...you can get willem from tailor made circuits and i think lincsat has one (not sure) and also you can reprogram the same chip. dnt bother with tsop mate too much hassel unless you know what your doing..good luck

Thanks for that mate great, Am I true in what I believe that the only way you can unbrick a modem is by removing the chip and using the willem. I have seen a video of this been done yes it does look difficult but I think I may be able to manage it

Thanks again
