Default Re: dvd drive says no disc in drive

Does the drive read any other disk?
Have you formatted your computer hard drive and so there is no Operating System on the Drive, or is it a new hard drive?
Is the DVD drive recognised in the BIOS?
Depending on the make of your Motherboard try hitting the delete key on booting up to enter the BIOS.
Change the boot options to boot first from your DVD/CD Rom drive.
If the problem is with the disk try running it under the cold water and gently drying it, or if possoble borrow another copy of the Windows disk to try.
