Default Sony Bravia Problem

Hi all,

Have a 2 1/2 year old sony bravia widescreen brought as a managers special and have loved it. Today it has started randomly switching from AV1 to AV3 and back or just going blank for a few seconds then back to normal this is constant however and virtually unwatchable.

Is this a known problem, it doesn't sound like ariel or scarts or anything. Any clues appreciated, got as a managers special as the new version came out so no manual warrenty etc....

thanks

Sounds like some gear attached may be the fault, remove everything,
and start with the co ax only, then go by elimination.
If you have a digital tuner attached or dvd/recorder these could be the
fault, also scarts can suffer pin problems and if using freeview may not
be screened.

Also you can download sony manuals,I have a contact on another site
if you want me to pm it to you. What is the model & Size

Sony will always claim no faults, I have experience of this.

Managers specials, you can be lucky but usually they are returns with a fault & refurb, or it as been on display for half a year on 24/7.

What store? now just have a think, what new electrics have you got
since the fault was discovered, elimination could be the answer, last thought has it got plenty of ventilation.

The Bravia has what is called a smart scart socket which takes preference and resets to whatever is put in this particular socket at switch on. If you have added gear, check this one out.
