Those regional variations affected are where there are two or more subregional options, and only one option from any region. Thus all regional programmes are available, only the very local news is not.
It must be a choice ITV were forced into making.

Has in my previous thread, I still find it incredable that the ALL SINGING
ALL DANCING, freesat which is supposed to be an alternate to Sky,ITV
have given the channel to the rival, I dont care what protocols are in place, but those greedy Murdochs win again.
All ITV channels should be FTA, this just gives Sky a selling assistance, IE
Only Sky can show you your very local ITV news, the Sky roadshows
cowboys will for a change tell the truth, for once only.

Its ONLY half a dozen small micro regions affected - the main regions are all still fta, and everyone still has access to a free version of their ITV region. All that will be affected is the local news - and whats that - 10 minutes a day difference?

No Anglosat, the point I make is, Every ITV areas local news will & is
available on Sky, the blocked ITV areas to FTA are now FTV,heaven for
Sky. Put it like this, in Wales we have one ITV area,as far as we in the North are concerned, its all South Wales bias, so we watch either
Central or Granada. This is 50 years pre freesat & present.

Why should someone who as spent Dosh to get freesat, then have to
pay £75 to Sky to get local news programmes, which are blocked on Freesat. Its all a gift to Murdoch and dont tell me they can still get the
local news on freeview which is why they went to freesat because they were told analog is ending, and freeview is impossible, due to the weak signal but was acceptable on analog.

It may only be six areas, but if I lived say in Oxford, and the local breakout is 30 minutes 6.00 to 6.30 was Cambridge,I would be well ****ed off. sorry local breakout is 30 minutes not ten.

the whole point of regional programing is to get local news Etc. Will people be told in these areas before they pay for freesat that they cant get there local ITV region? and people say Sky are out to make money.

I am sorry to say Mr Madrat, but they will be told they can get local progs on freesat, by Currys(about to go bust), comet(who have filthy stores),Argos(says so on the box) the lot will either dont know,or dont care.

I am sorry to say Sky a PLC are out to make money, this single item
makes a total farce of freesat,as expected unprepared.

If you live in the six areas effected, dont bother watching between
6 and 630p.m. as the breakout prog will show Swindon when you live
in Oxford. What a shambles.

Sky will make capitol of this, all the roadshow thugs will be sent to six areas. ITV on FTV, total balls up, This is the second balls up, No ITV
HD in Scotland or Nth Ireland, Murdoch must be laughing to the bank.
At least the Beeb got it right.

Bob.

It will all be sorted out by the time the regions affected reach Digital Switch Over. If you notice none of the areas scheduled to go over in the next year has been targetted.
