I have not updated my patch in my 1500ci+ for ages and still get all my channels (premier etc all on 19.2) What is the significance of the "Magc" patch and should I be downloading it? Others who have downloaded appear to be having problems.

Magic is the New Darkman - or put another way, Magic releases the patches now not Darkman

The significance of the new patches relate to packages other than Premiere which, unlike Premier have either changed keys or tweaked their encryption. These include Digi TV on 1w, Polsat on 13e (and TPS 13e which is down currently anyway).

If you can't get or are not interested in these other packages, then you may not hurry to update your patch though it is generally advised to have the latest safe/working patch.
