Default high level guidance . . .

I have scowered the forums for some sort of high level guide on process required to get a new starter up and running from scratch.

I cant find one !

I really interested in the whole process, and hope if someone could explain a bit of context about how keys fit unto the process, and why the keys would need to be updated regularly.

I have worked out so far

1. Buy a box
2. Download latest firmware and update
3. Plug in.
4. Watch

I still cant work how/why keys come into the equation!! Is this something which would need management so long as you've got a box or does the firmware take care of this for us?
