Ev Maxv 2008..stuck On Stanby?

Finaly, After weeks of playing with my new box i have got it to work (sort of)?
I got the new box in pre-flushed state....loaded s/w 18-8....power scan and NO Transponders...NO Channels.
After pulling out the three hairs i had left on my head i found that box would only work if i loaded cdf with s/w.
All Good...NOT!
Box works great...all channels...updates...all good.
Untill box is put in to standby, then thats where it stays!
The only way to get box working again is to re-flash s/w with cdf file.
Any Ideas Please.....
