I think this may be down to the image (firmware) that's installed - while they all have basically similar menus, they're never identical.
If you haven't done it already, you might consider flashing your Dreambox with a new image (the official DMM image the box comes with is a bit limited). There are loads of people who will advise you as to which image they think is best (for what it's worth, I'd recommend either LT4 or the latest Gemini 2). I would also recommend carrying out the flashing procedure (with Universal DreamUP installed on your PC) using a null modem cable (it's slow but reliable). You can worry about setup *after* you've done all that! |

Cheers i figured out it was a different menu then the person had. Now my new problem is i cant connect the dreambox to the net. I have connected it to my belkin router and nothing happens. When i do a test everything turns to red.
I have updated to the gemini 2 image.

No idea on that one, I'm afraid. I assume your router is all set up properly and that your Internet connection is working fine with your PC?
What I've done with mine is to connect my router (a Zoom ADSL X6) to my 7025 by ethernet cable while having a wireless connection to my PC. It worked as soon as it was connected, so I'm a bit baffled by your experience. Perhaps someone else has some ideas??? |

1st have made sure you have the right ethernet cable?? It's the same type a computer to router use and not the computer to dreambox. ie cross over cable is what you need (i think).
Have you tried seeing if a laptop of something can get access to the net via the cable you have laid for the db. This will tell you if cabling is correct. In expert set up and comms is your ip gate way the same ip address as your router?? Have you managed to talk to your db yet via dreambox controle centre?? If you cannot get to talk to the db from dcc then something would be wrong with the cabling and could blocking the box talking to the net. Does you belkin router have firewall settings?? Just some points to try. ki
