Its possible that it's a blown capacitor but before you try fixing it yourself - if you've only bought it, then contact the supplier.

Is their power on your box i.e. the red standby light is displayed but nothing else and you cannot get it to out of standby ? If this is the case rather than return to seller which will cost you, you could try to JTAG your box. Dead easy, loads of guides on this forum. My friends box had exact same problem, he bought a JTAG from seller Tailor made Circuits on Ebay and now works a treat.

Power surges (normally happen after power cuts) erase the chip and the box usually needs to be Jtagged afterwards.

Looks like this happened to you m8

You cannot distinguish a cloned MaxV just by the words on the front panel of the box. The first generation maxV's have the words 'Digital Satellite Receiver' in the middle of the front panel and the second generation maxV's have 'MaxV' in the middle of the panel and both of these are genuine boxes

The only way to decide whether or not a box the box is genuine or clone is by looking inside. All you need to identify a clone is in a document here trying to update (4th post down)

Sorry m8 but that there be a clone and the buzzing/hissing noise definitely ain't right.

However - although it is hard to tell from the photo's cos looking down at the box and it might just be the reflection - one of the caps does look to be bulging at the top. If it is then that might be your prob.
