Hi all, as mentioned in th topic i have an unused sky dish on the side of the house from the previous owners. My parents have virginmedia so the dish is no longer in use. The cable from the dish goes straight past my bedroom window, so i was wondering what options i have, that are reasonably cheap, for setting myself up with some channels? If i just wanted the freeview channels, what would i have to do/buy? and if possible to get some movie channels etc what would i have to do and buy?
Thanks in advance ![]() p.s. are there any boxes that offer hdmi connections that i could get aswell, as my new 37inch 1080p Toshiba Regza doesnt like scarts very much ![]() |

Essayist thing would be to re rout the cable into your room then ether get a used SKY box off ebay for around £10 (just sold one) or get a freesat box for £50 If you get a sky box you will get more channels and have the option of subscribing. You will need to get a FTV card from sky to get the Channel 5s and sky 3, but sometimes you might get lucky and get a box with a card then as long as the parental controls are not set or you have the original pin number for the card you will get them.
If you want the HMDI conections you will have to get the HD freesat box £150 but I persanoly think its to soon to judge freesat just yet.

Freesat box's will cost more that sky because they have only just come out. try this for sky box http://shop.ebay.co.uk/items/Satelli...QQ_sacatZ15069
the older one's start at around £5 but you can pick up some bargain ones, just sold a Thomson and 2 remotes for £8.50. good luck.
