Question Satellite System Setup

Hello all,

I am looking to set up a Satellite TV system in our French property and would like it to recieve all the free UK channels.

What I need to know is what type of set top box would do the job? Im not looking for anything fantastic, just something to get us viewing. Maybe something like a Freesat box?

Also what type of dish would I need? Will it have to be bigger than the normal Sky type ones used in the UK to be able to pick the channels up from France?

And lastly, how do I go about pointing the dish at the right part of the sky?

Thanks,

Stuart

1metre dish should do if your down in the south of france, further up you are in france the less dish size you will need to use to get all channels even ones on astra 2d

Central France, about an hours drive north of Limoges.

Would something like the Technomate TM3100D Motorised System from Southern Satellite work ok?

Yes, it would be fine. You don't need it to be motorised to get the UK channels, but the motor will give you added flexibility to receive from other satellites if you wanted to.

Pointing a fixed dish is a fairly easy process. When you get the gear, post back if you need help.
