Default willem 4.5 help please

Hi i got a willem and when i try to erase the chip it goes to 3% and fails and when i do a blank test it says that it is not empty can anyone please help as i have 2 willems now and both do the same on 2 pc's is there anything i am doing wrong. Sorry forgot to mention i cant set printer port in the bios to app will that matter or is there any other setting that will work. Thanks

hello there what chips are you attempting to erase, and the dip switch configuration ?

it sounds as though it could be a voltage setting fault. are you using external 12v in or USB? i found the later to be a little flakey when programming so I decided to goto the 12v dc instead.

Thanks for your quick reply it is a chip from the 250 modem and im using a multi voltage power supply from maplins set to 12 volts. It gets to 3% on the erase and says its done but when i check it says not empty. Thanks

alas I am new here, so I dont know what a 250 modem is, would you have the chip information like serial number on the chip ?

a lot of EEPROM (the non UV kind) can require upto 18 volts of juice to format. but obviously this depends on the chip itself.

another question i must ask is, did you change the switch bank to the correct power level for the chip? (there should be a diagram on the screen when you select chip type)

if all else fails, OR i am beging to talk blurb again, take some nice hires-pics of the programmer (the settings) and chip then postie here
