Wink Re: Starview over others

hi, had an nthell chipped box for 2 years, no probs. know a guy who has had his for 5 years, same as. got a starview3 for the missus(good swap!) in march, not had many probs but can be frustrating foe the wife if i am out and it plays up. am going to swap them about, so she has the chipped box. all i watch is footy and -orn. only difference for me is the price. chipped box was £30 dearer! you do get more on s/views etc, but it depends on your taste . hope this helps,

if u r thinking of getting a sv3
it says 275 channels but there's about 20 '3000' or 'e' channels which are either empty or u/s.
because of new legistration ,i don't think many of the new boxes are plug in and play except just freeview use only .so you would have to download but there's plenty of infro on how to do this in the public domain
when buying a sv3 make sure a null modem cable and adapter for 9 pin (if needed) is supplied but this infro is usually supplied by the seller.
any problems ? either read back pages of this forum or post new thread .there's loads of good sorts out there who try and help.
all the best col : righton:
