I have a sky dish attached to my house, Im quite sure it is Sky (It says Quad LNB). The cable already comes into my living room. I was just wondering if I bought a Satellite Receiver for Turkish Tv such as Hotbird (I think) could I recieve some Turkish channels? I dont need lots of Turkish Channels just maybe 4 or 5 good ones.

As hotbird is a fairly strong satellite then the answer would be yes. Are there any fta turkish channels on horbird??

There are other options, get a slightly bigger dish and aim it at turksat at 42e. or 7e. There are a number of turkish channels open on 42w with a 80cm dish. You could prob. try get it with a sly dish though.

I think i was wrong about Hotbird seems like you can only get very few Turkish channels with it. I guess Turksat/Eutelsat or DigiTurk. But I just want to know if its possible to pick up any of these with a Sky dish and a suitable Turkish tv Receiver.

Has anyone done it?

TRT 1 2 & 3 & ATV are fta on 42E but you will need at least an 80 cm dish.

TRT 1 2 3 are fta on 7E, the other two are scrambled. They will probably also need an 80 cm dish.

TRT 1,2 are on 7e and 42e, NOT suitable with a $ky dish.

Show Tv and ATV are on 42e also but are on East beam only and not receivable from the UK. Require subscription

Get your self a professional 80cm dish

TRT1,TRT2,TRT3 and TRT4 are easily receivable on a minidish from 42E.

on 11919V .

I just swung one of my minidishes round without even optimising it and those channels are coming in with a very good signal.

Also loads of other Turkish channels too.

Can't manage any ATV channels though.
