French public broadcaster France 2 will start to broadcast some of its programmes in high definition from Friday, June 27.
This summer 220 to 230 hours of programming will be broadcast in native HD. Between August 8 and 24, HD broadcasting will total 165 hours of programmes, including 100 hours in native HD. Live events such as Le Tour de France (75 hours) and the Olympic Games will boost the HD line-up, but the channel will also screen dramas, feature films as well as cultural events in HD. Roberto Alagna’s Faust retransmission from the Orange Festival, will also be broadcast in HD. From September, France 2 will maintain two hours of native HD broadcasts a day, especially for drama and sport programming. Source:Rapid Tv News |
