Default Can I pick up Astra & Hotbird at once?

Hi Guys,

I brought a FTA Digi box for my bro who moved to a new house and had a Sky satellite dish there already.
Wanting to receive Astra FTA channels and also Hotbird FTA channels, is there a way i can pick up both without having to move to dish?

I read something about a dual LNB. Would this help in auto scanning Astra and Hotbird channels?

Any help will be much appreciated.
Thanks

If you mean Astra 1 at 19E, and Hotbird at 13E, the a 6 degree monobloc LNB would be the cheapest solution.
What is your dish size?
What make/model receiver do you have?
What is your general location, e.g. North West England?

If it is a sky minidish zone 1 you would have problems getting two LNBs to work for both Astra(28E) and Hotbird(13E) at the same time. It would possibly work OK on a zone 2 minidish.

Better really to change the dish for a larger (say 80cm one),

or one of the Raven Geminis, you would then be able to have two LNBs on the dish, one for 28E the other for 13E. While you were at it, you might as well stick one on for 19E too.

Have a look at this:-
