Default Media Centre & Transponder/Channels.

Hi guys,

I've finally for everything working. Vista Media Centre and using an XBox 360 as a Media Centre Extender. BBC HD too. Sweet.

The only thing missing now is that it only picks up 204 channels and I've been told there should be at least another 70 odd. Things I can see missing are Sky Box Office. Can you get theses - perhaps updating the transponder search list somehow?

I do have some channels named ETVS10 - 18 but these seems to be sport. I also have Sky Premier and Movies 24 and the basic ones. Just non of the PPV/BoxOffice set.

ETVS10 - 18 are the bbci red button stream of channels at the moment mainly alternative wimbledon matches.....get a recent dbox2 service file for ur area and check u have listed all the transponder frequencies available....all the missing channels may be from 1 transponder.....i pick up ppv channels.

Default Re: Media Centre & Transponder/Channels.

I originally used the Cable_UK.reg file that came with the FloppyDTV for the transponder list. That imports to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\DigitalEverywhere\Fire DTV\Transponder\Cable]

I'm not sure how to edit the MCE transponders list to check/add them, if the list in the supplied Cable_UK.reg file is complete or where to even find a services.xml to get the correct list. I did do a search and checked the download area but doesn't seem to be around.

I don't suppose you could export the keys I need from your registry could you and send it me??

hi Cynan,
I'm trying to do a similar thing;

I got a services.xml file for a DBox2 over at afterdawn.
You might have to request one for your particular area.
It will look something like this, (when opened with excel.)

I'm not too sure how to change the settings but in the FireDTV Driver Folder (FireDTV 4-5-N)->Transponder->Cable and open with Notepad.
Should look like this:

the last number is the Symbol Rate the middle number is the frequencies.

Does anybody know what the first number is?

BTW I'm not getting any channels at all in MCE XP. I did a scan and it found no services but in Settings>Guide>Edit Channels it has the names of 564 channels. I've ticked all the boxes and saved but still nothing. I'll try again when I update the registry.

Hi, thank you for your reply.

I think the first number is th terrestial transponder or frequencies and this file is mapping them to different ones. So in theory you should be able to start putting in the frequencies from the services.xml file next to the ones in the cable_uk.reg file and just load it up.

I did try the other night to adjust mine though and when I did a scan it found 0 channels. Putting it back to the default it found 204 again as before.

I will try and request a services.xml file from that site (thanks) and let you know how it goes.
