help please stuck at hyperterminal.

HI GUYS
Im trying to update a 255 that hasnt been pluged into the cable feed yet so im told.with infinite the problem im having is im not to sure if im connecting to hyperterminal correctly because when i get to the point of booting up the 255 and pressing the P option within 2 seconds nothing is cumming up in hyperterninal its just a blank screen even though it says im connected at the bottom
so i dont no what to do next

if anyone can point me in the wright direction to get me up and running again it would be greatly appreciated.

It sounds like either your setup is wrong (nic card mac) or the actual settings for hyper, or the modem just isnt communicating with the pc,it could also be incorrectly connected via the max232/233 or the max isnt working,
