Default patching and useing keys on 6900

i am a little confused regarding patching and keys can anyone explain. have seen the video (sort off) iassume i will need a RS232 cable connected to the lap top . at the moment i put the updates through as USB stick.

You can put your updates in via your usb stick. You can both patch the box and update the softcam via usb stick. You should also be able to update the keys via the remote.

If for any reason you have an issue with updating the box with usb, then you can also update it via the old fashioned way or using a loader program and all a null modem cable. Not an rs232. They look the same but are wired differently inside.

I would suggest you only try updating you box via null modem if you really have to. It's just a pain taking the box to pc. Thays why the now have usb slots in them.

One way of updating the keys to the TM series is by "Softcam" If you see "Updated Softcam" for TM1000 or TM6000 series, these can be sent (via the RS232 to USB null modem cable) to your receiver. Likewise, you can also upload your chan's or your keys to your PC if required.
