Default Is this box stuck in tune

Hi Guys
Had a pace TW 1000t box runnin for years now . Over the last few months it has been playin up freezin changing channels the sound kept muteing itself . It has now decided it wants no more . It froze so I unplugged and rebooted it , now it gets as far as the loading data screen and that is that .
Would this be classed as stuck in tune as I have read lots of stuff on here about how to solve that problem or is that something else .
Also someone suggested checking the tuner for cracks I have had a look and nothing seems untoward but could anyone be more specific in exactly what it is Im looking for . I know the signal and cable is allright as I have now plugged in my subbed box which is working fine in the same place .
Any ideas if it all over or why this has happened .
Any info most gratefully recieved
thanks in advance

Check the electrolitic capacitors on the board, the small metal cans, look for swollen tops or black stuff leaking out, especially on power supply side.
