Can someone please help a newbie?
Today I bought the above LG TV, and have been trying to connect it to our V+ box and enable the HDMI connection. I've followed the instructions for both the V+ box and the new TV, but can't get the HDMI link to work -if I pull out the scart I lose the picture. Anyone had a similar problem or know what I have to do? thanks in advance, Paul |

I believe that the video signal only goes to the TV via the Scart lead. I also believe that the HDMI cable is so that you can PLAY/SEND pictures TO the TV from perhaps a DVD player or an HD satellite receiver. The HDMI socket on the TV accept either 720p or 1080i signals from an HD source. With my LG TV (not same model!), Digital STB's have to be connected to Scart 2 and not scart 1
Hope the above helps. PS. Hi m8, I see that this is your first post. Welcome to the forum. I have only been a member for a couple of days or so. ![]()

Thanks for your reply.
I think I've got it sorted now, after my 9th call to Virgin. The instructions on the V+ site tell you everything you need to know to set the box up to transmit down the HDMI lead, except one vital step -when you press ok to change the settings you need to change the tv input to HDMI, and then press 'text' on hte V+ remote. This got it working perfectly. ...until just, when the box overheated. ![]() |

I had a similar problem when setting up the V+ box. However, once it was up and running, I was able to remove the scart lead and now everything operates on just the HDMI lead.
