Default Original Eurovox

Ive just baught one of the original models of the Eurovox 2nd hand. The only problem is it doesnt come with a remote. will a cheap universal remote work?
Would I be better off flashing it to the blue firmware or just using the newest firmware for the original. How do you flash it to the blue, just use its firmware?

Thanks

Rory

Just get a remote for your box off ebay for £10 ish

Not sure what firmware you flash the first boxes with.

Make sure its not a clone

if its a eurovox 1 (1 scart socket) you wont be able to flash blue f/w to it.

ok, thanks for the replies. Not sure if its a v1 or v2 as i havent rrecieved it yet.Where can I get a remote for the original. On ebay I can only see the eurovox max and red and blue remotes.

if it turns out to be a v2 can I flash that with the latest blue firmware?

OK, turns out its a v2 so I can flash it. So I need a JTAG for the eurovox and a max remote right? I feel a prick now becasue Ive only saved about 20 quid on getting a new model one after buying these. Ahh well. Live and learn
