well right now i have watchable picture on 12226v 28000 which is listed as nordic beam and the signal level is 65% on my vantage x221tsci
i played with the alignment of the dish earlier but seem to have lost 16east doing so further checking i got signal on quite a few of the transponders now so they must get stronger at night ? |

i'm near leeds
as for dish size i think that i might have just been lucky what i do have is a 90cm channel master in the box and a jaeger 1224 motor which i'm going to replace the triax dish with as when i'm trying to tweak the dish with my horizon meter i tighten the bolts and loose the setting its awful the triax |

Actually i was suprised that i could receive Thor 5 Nordic beam down in southern France close to Nice with a Andrew 120cm dish and Inverto C120 LNB.
The signals are stronger from Thor 5 than from the old Thor 3 down there right now and even the FEC are higher of 7/8 which requries a higher signal above threshold than the old Thor 3 that runs FEC 3/4 According to footprint it's way out, probably a strong sidelobe in the area. yes but my dish is really exposed in its current location so i'm wondering if it is bent but doesn't look like it has, as over the year with the winds it has flexed about in the wind

From many Thor 3 reports over the years, I suspect this bird is slightly easier from East Anglia and the East Midlands in the UK (as is borne out by the official footprint map.)
I'm currently pulling in channels (watchable where encryption clearing) from all Thor 3 transponders (as detailed at: http://www.lyngsat.com/thor3.html) except: 11823H 12399H 12476H I'm having to nudge the dish slightly between TP scans (it's that marginal on one or two TPs) but solid viewing otherwise. 8pm, light cloud. Brighton UK, Fibostöp 90cm

still receiving the channels after tweaking the dish other day but signal is marginal and would be better on larger dish
going to bring into service my andrews 90cm and see what that is like with the matched feedhorn and then maybe get a 1.2m due to the massive dish area increase from 90cm |
