Default Cable modems

Hello can anyone recommend a modded modem for myself?
I have no knowledge with these but know a little about computers.
I live in cardiff, have 2mb broadband with cable provider VM.
I already have a wireless router (netgear).
Can i purchase a simple plug and play modem with CD etc or is it much more harder than this?
Ive tried lincsats web shop but cannot see them.
Can anyone give me some help.
I will be reading the haynes manual as soon as i find it!, and as soon as i get home.

thanks

Read the manual and ask about the confusing bits

Good luck

All modems require the samethings to make them work:
tftp ip address
a valid mac address
and the ds frequency

I'm guessing that the Ambit 250 is probably the easiest to mod. I've found the Motorola 5100 relatively easy to mod, but it does require you to open it up and solder a part onto the board.

localfisher - Check your PM.
