Smile Service Unknown

Hi All!

NTHell Dublin Here. Eurovox Max Red Box. All Stations work fine until last week. about ten stations came up as Service Unknown. Done the usual, factory Reset, Power Scan. Pick up all the Chans, codes updated perfectly. But the same chans just come up Service Unknown. It looks like NTHell are blockin a different station every day! Anybody got any idea what's gone on, or a way around this problem!

Thanks In Advance.

Hi M8. I updated the new April firmware, to get the box to auto update. All work fine til last week. It's not just my box, but every person I have met that have different type of boxes, get the Unknow Service for ten or more stations. The scan picks them up ok including the name of the stations, freq rate ect, but the picture don't come up, just service unknow. Any help would be gr8, cause every1 I know would be gr8ful 4 any help.

Thanks in advance m8

Which channels are you missing as N*L have moved things about recently in dublin? If I know which channels you're missing I can tell you which TP's need updating.

N*L are not blocking stations - they are just moving them around a bit. This type of thing does happen periodically and has nothing to do with their battle against dodgy boxes - its simply housekeeping on their part

run a normal powerscan, and those channels will appear at the end of the channel list, ie after 140+. Simply substitute them in for their matching channel that shows the message and you're set.

My guess is you've been missing some of those for longer than a week.

You have 2 options:

You can delete all your channels and do a full rescan. Go to Menu / Config / Clear Data (pin 1004). Set your symbol rate to 6.887 again and do Full Autoscan between the freq 285.000 and 425.000. You'll need to re-organise your favs again.

OR

You can download my CDF file from here CDF Files for the Eurovox onto your box and do a manual scan on freq 347.000 (this cdf pre-dates the C4 changes). To do a manual scan, go to Menu / Installation / User Installation, highlight the frequency. Press OK (a tick mark will appear beside it) and press blue button (Manual). This will re-scan that frequency only.

Either way will sort you out.

Hi M8,

I have done both of these, but still get the Unknown Service.

Any other ideas.

Thanks in advance!
