building jtag

hi i am a competent solderer i have done a few peoject that have woekeed fine some smaller 1's like a max ineterce to radioe control stuff other+++
any way i went to buy the parts for my jtag from mpalins i bought 2 of the bits i could'nt slavage easy if i needed to rebuild which i did!!

the 4.7 mf capacitor the part number on the downloads has now been discontinued at maplins and they had to give my a higher voltage[50v] i beleive but same rating 4.7 - i though that this should b ok and so did they----

it doesnt give a voltage in downloads[so thought didnt matter]....

if u check my other threads youll see the reason im sasking is because im habving trouble connected a p4ce 4010 with the jtag!!!!i keep getting unable to put target into background mode!

If its the one from downloads you have built i think there was an error with it, someone worked it out and fixed it i can recall, if you do a search you should find it .

cheerz red i found it , i bought 2 chips now good job there 79p cheaper thann the max the 233 is 5er - and the novice angel max233/232 guide also show the cpaceitors +/- black/white colors wrong way round!!didnt fall for that 1 though cheerz man red to the rescue once again ....cheerz man

and download new pdf its 2 wires man need swapping to 25pin male! just in caseu cant spot the differnce!!!

and i didnt blow either chip is it suggests may happen!!

hi red again!!! ive tested it now and

WAY HEY EXCELLENTA M8 THANK U, its connected and give me an ird and bk the ird matches the one ontop of scart so would the bk be write 1???, i want to make sure as i have soldered the wires to the box as i had no pogo pins! or else id just test a card with them numbers and plug to tele i cant while its soldered obviously anyway the thing is i no i have only the default bytes so thes bk would not be correct is that so??

have u got the new bytes plz red for nlt pure pace 4010

cheerz red i just took ic and disconnected pc then tried that bk i got with default bytes and yes everything is ok in the land of Fr33 T3L3 thank a lot

Thats good mate, bytes are still the same for paces, you can try it with jtag still attached i do, just make sure they dont short out on case, well done anyway.

cheerz red -- yeah soon as i swapped the wires round i think it was 3 n 4 in back of 25oin conn'it worked 1st time with the default bytes! and i have now tried 1 still attached now and its fine , makes life easier anyway!!! cheers again m8!!!
