Is it possible to reach this satellite with a 88cm dish in East Yorkshire? I've tried but the frequencies keep getting mixed up with Astra @ 28.2E - you think you have found BADR only to realise that you are scanning a different satellite.
My 'What Sat' mag indicates a 120cm dish but just thought if it could be reached with my trusty Triax ??Cheers! |

Cheers satelliteman.
What's the best transponder to find to ensure I'm searching Badr? It was the MBC beam I was after, but I'm in no hurry to enlarge my dish just yet

A very strong 26e transponder in the UK is 12181 H 16200 (arguably the strongest); also worth exploring is 12740 H 2400.

I can get Badr @26e with my 80cm dish in the midlands with no problems at all. Even the MBC channels come through ok, although when the weather turns the picture does disappear quite quickly

it is possible, from hartlepool i use a 88cm triax,i have watched badr for a few years now i take a tv monitor into the garden otherwise i would not get it , i get the mbcs ok as well unless it rains with any degree, but it does not take all that long for the picture to come back. IF you have to go up a ladder you will probably need a 1mtr or 1.1 dish, as mentioned the 12181 h 16200 symbol rate is the one to go for its the best of the lot |
