Default Sly + hard disc drive

Hi just wandering if anybody can tell me anything about the hdd in a sly + box,is it ide or sata,2.5 or 3.5 and could it be removed safely and used in another pvr or have sly done anything to them that makes them useless once no longer installed in there euipment,we all no how sly love to stitch everyone up,i cant believe that after spending 200 quid and keeping to my agreement for over twelve months that my + feature wont even work on the fta/ftv channels,Sly are rip off BA*****S.

The hard drive in a standard Sky+ box is a Standard 3.5" IDE drive and can be used in anything when removed, in the SkyHD box it's a SATA drive...

The capacity depends on which version you have though (I can't remember all of them but I know the first ones were Slim 40GB Maxtor drives)...

see post Upgrading the Hard Drive in a Sky+/SkyHD box By Lincsat for further info. Gives very good pic guides on how to do it. If u want a HDD i can recommend _http://www.aria.co.uk as a supplier. I have used them for years for components and they are VERY good on both price and service.
