Remote not working - Eurovox Max Red

Can anyone help please?

My remote stopped working so I bought another one from ebay - and that one didn't work either so I realised it was the box.

I updated the firmware and everything seemed ok for a week or so but then it stopped working again yesterday.

I've updated the firmware again ( I think I've got the latest) but to no avail and just to rub salt in, before it stopped working, I had it on mute so now I have a box with all my channels in perfect order but no sound AND a nice blue MUTE sign in the middle of my screen. I can only change channels manually and cannot access any menus. Even the power button on the remote doesn't work.

I found a thread once which pointed out, with pics, how to identify red/blue/max boxes. I can't find it now but I'm pretty sure I have a Max Red box

Does anyone have any ideas to get things working again please? Any help would really be appreciated

Easy way to check if your remote is working is check the remote through a camera phone, the sensors will light up when you press a button if its working.

The attached is a good doc for identifying which box you've got.
