Is the tb meant keep on flashing even when you put the box on stand by?

if you want to check if tb is cut go to techincal stuff in settings and it should say dhcp status: return path is off, it it says its on the tb has not been cut.

yep, the middle light should keep on flashing even when u put box on standby, regularly it flashes not always.

Why do my old box stop flashing as soon as it goes on standby?

that is because the stb is in standby mode, and not streaming a channel
