hi, ive been browsing these forums for a while now, kinda teaching myself about the starview and eurovox boxes as i only found out about them a few weeks ago.
I was just about to purchase the Starview PVR when i noticed that Eurovox are releasing there own. Could anyone help me decide between which box to get, as i said im a complete newbie to all this and dont wanna jump into the first thing i see, and would love advice from everyone here who have alot more knowledge about the products than me. Any opinions and facts would would be gratefully recieved and appreciated. thankyou very much in advance for your help Phr33ky ![]() |

hi i have a euro vox max 2008 and a "the box pvr" which is the starview2 pvr
and all i can say is, i would never touch another starview box again , i don't even use the pvr side of it as it is that useless and the epg is virtually none existant it takes a couple of mins just to tell you what you watching and even then it usually tells you what was on before . the euro vox max 2008 is a fantastic machine the epg is instant it tells you now and next at a glance it just leaves starview behind!! although starview 3 i out now and i cant really comment on that as ive not seen it but from what ive read still has all the same issues . if the euro vox pvr is only half as good as the euro vox max 2008 it will still be twice as good as the starveiw pvr !!!! not only that the support for the euro vox is far better , more updates i was really disappointed when i bought the starview as id already had a euro vox ive just read a review on the euro vox pvr im definitely getting one |

I have not had the Starview/TheBox PVR but I have read many reports of unhappy owners of this very buggy receiver. The Eurovox PVR looks like a good thing but being new no-one can say yet if it is really good but I suspect it will be ok. I use an Itgate 220 with USB hard drive but that's another story. I would say the Eurovox PVR is the best choice by far over the Starview/Box PVR.

Are u saying that u just plug a usb driver into ur eurovox pvr to tape and don't use a laptop hard drive? if so does it work well and are u limited to size? Also how do u get on with the EPG on it?, also I read there that u can tape 2 channels at once but it has to be on the same transponder or somethinbg - what does that mean? I already have a couple of non pvr eurovox's Ta ![]()

thanks to satsmo
1. Pull plug on the back of the EV for a few seconds then plug back in again. 2. When EV powers up, immediately press menu, config and time settings. 3. Set correct time using GMT settings. 4. Then turn GMT OFF. 5. Press blue button to save and exit. |
