If you have a "The Box", (SV2) then it should update with the firmware you have 4.54 is the latest firmware but 4.51 is more stable.

The firmware and loader you have indicated is for a genuine Starview 1.

So then you have a Starview 1 and its fine. You named you box as Starview "The Box" hence the confusion. If its a SV1 which it must be if its working with Cryptstar then you are fine.

Easiest way is as you said it will either say Starview or The Box on the front. Well if you have The Box working with Cryptstar thats a new one.

Is this what you have:

Hi again,
Yes thats the one.
I followed a tutorial as follows...
1. uploaded channel data file
2. flashed box with CGTRom v4.oo and ryptStar-v1.4-Core400
3. Upadte succesfull, bbc came back on without loading channel file so I moved to Sky Sports 1 - message came up saying updating info of similar then the channel came up.
check a few more encripted channels and seems to be woring fine.
Should I reflash box with the bin file you recomended
Thanks
Taz

If something is working dont fix it. The SV1 and 2 are quite similar and the TSOP must be the same if it works on Cryptstar.

If you flashed correctly with Cryptstar and it doesnt update. Press menu, type 1570 on remote, press default key in the CAS menu. Exit all the way out and put it on Sly Sports. See if it updates.

If you are losing channels check to see if they are on the same transponder. You may need a booster and also check your cabling and connections.
