Of the non Sky/Terrestrial variety? Which channels do you most enjoy watching the most, and why?
Plenty of discussion about the technologies and capabilities but I never see anyone talk about why they like watching certain channels. Or perhaps you just continually channel hop? Being only limited to Sky so far, I'm interested to know what people are enjoying the most out of the thousands of channels available out there on satellite. |

Some of the English language news channels are pretty good. Some interesting perspectives on how others are reporting the big events around the world.
Arirang on 19E has some good documantaries about the Korean way of life on it.

What channels am I after? To be honest I just like watching stuff in different languages, or English stuff with foreign subtitles. I'm thinking of investing in a motorised setup anyway to watch Bulgarian channels (plus others) but wondered what channels people like which aren't available on Sky or Terrestrial UK television. |

like wod I tend to spend alot of time on 1 west these days due the the amount of stuff avail
I have not had a sky sub for years, so tend not to think of things like discovery as a sky channel as they are on nearly ever sat you scan I also sometimes watch some german or dutch stuff on 19east http://www.rtl.nl/service/gids/ for example the tv2 /3 /4 and viasat4 as good on 1 west for general stuff lol I got my first system just for German fta then got hooked. and lazy with all the English stuff out there atm its not easy to say its prob easier for you to look on http://lyngsat.com/and tell us what, you would like then we can advise you on what system you require.

Specifically I've always wanted to improve my understanding of Bulgarian which is difficult here because there's not much access to films and radio without satellite. So at the moment I'm looking at getting a system which can recieve their local FTA channels. But I'd also like to watch Nordic TV, East European, Russian and various other countries local programmes. |
