Default Serious help needed flashing max v box

Hi all, decided to make my own thread in my last attempt to flash my max v eurovox. I have had the cables needed for a while now but for some reason just cannot get the new software onto my box! I have read the guides such as ronsters on how to download the software, but must be going wrong somewhere as i have tried over and over but with no success, and it has become very frustrating as everyone on here seems to have done it very easily. The steps i am taking is:

1. connecting my eurovox to my pc. leaving the eurovox in standby.
2. opening ronsters link to the max v software then clicking download followed by open when asked what i want to do with the file.
3. i then open the download file when it appears and this takes me to another two files called 'read me' and 'UFL Max V'.
4. i double click the UFL file and select extract all files from the pop up which comes up. this then opens a new window with the eurovox kuro v3 final file in which i then open up.
5. two new files then appear, one read me and one dnupman mfc applic.
6. i open the dnupman file and select run, which opens the eurovox max v flash loader. i click to large download button in the middle of this box and a boot mode window then opens saying the receiver was not detected and to select a COM port. the only COM port which seems to do anything is COM 3 but when i select it and press ok all i get is a 'waiting for the response of your receiver message'. this does not do anything after that!

I realise this may be really easy for most but i have not upgraded my box before. i thought that by explaining exactly what steps i am taking, someone could offer some much needed advice as to where i am going wrong! PLEASE HELP LOL

Basic Settings
Press MENU on your remote control
Select the “installation” icon and press OK.
Press the yellow button to select POWERSCAN.
Cable television normally uses one of three symbol rates; if you are unsure of your symbol rate then leave it set at 6.952 and proceed, If you find only a few or no channels then repeat the user installation but press down key 3 times and change the symbol rate to 6.887, if this fails to find any channels then use 6.875. If you already know your symbol rate then enter it now.
Press OK to start the scan.
After about 20 minutes your receiver will finish scanning and all channels should be found.
You should now have a basic setup; you may need to wait a few minutes the first time you select a scrambled channel for the key to update. If any channels seem to be missing then check carefully as they may be listed with nondescript name, i.e. Channel X may be listed as TVCh 12, you can change this in Channel Manager. Also the channels will not be in the order you are used to but again you can change this with the Channel Manager and you can use the Favourites Manager to put them into groups for fast access.
If any of the Channels seem to “disappear” then simply perform an Auto scan to restore the missing Channels.

Why do you need to flash?
has your box ever worked or are you just putting latest software on it?

the reason i need to flash my box is just to put the latest firmware on it. it is working but i am having to manually enter the keys every time they roll and it is getting annoying. jay i am guessing your instructions are for if my box was broke and not to just put new firmware on it?

craig mate the newest firmware for max v is a unified loader meaning all you do is open the loader and hit download it has the fimrware in it . if your not finding com ports theres a tutorial on here to check which comport is available and how to sort out i am sure lucky13 and ronster have explained about checking comports. but anyway a simple solution to this is if you just use another pc some pcs on occasion have either had windows corrupted down the line and almost always something doesnt work .

if you download the software off biqmaq u only get the one ufl you open that and just click download mate dont touch nothing esle just make sure your box is connected

anyway make sure you dont have a eurovox max v clone i am sure these are out and about now simply because ive heard of people saying they got it from china (clone capital) for eurovox
