Default Surfboard 4100 Ntl/Virgin Network Connector problem..

Currently on Virgin broadband and have an original 4100 I got when I took the deal from NTL a long time ago.

Monday afternoon the modem seemed to of died, it had been connected via the network port and has been working solidly for the last 7-8 years.

All the lights are working apart from the activity light, and the pc would claim a network connection was disconnected.

Grabbed the usb drivers off the net, and it works fine via USB, checked the site and guess virgin may of upgraded it as I see the Northampton status for 4mb has been shift to 8mb has been completed.

It works fine with USB, but the network port the activity lights on that don't flash when a cable is plugged in to that alone (double checked with 2 pc network cards, and a Xbox 360 plugged into it)

I cant ring virgin about it as for reasons going back 5 years or so about a billing arrangement, but this modem is my original Mac ID, and been fine.

Could the network port be broken, and is there any easy ways of fixing it, or cloning my Mac address to another modem?
