Default Starview 3 - Setup Tutorial

Hi folks,

totally brand new to all of this and wondering if anybody can give me instructions or point me to an online tutorial on how to set this up from scratch?

I have the Starview 3 box, a RS232 cable, a USB to RS232 cable and have a Virgin Media cable box.

Now I'm stuck!! Any help would be greatfully appreciated.

Cheers

Jay better off putting it in here as I assume its the standard update info. However remember the SV3 comes in two batch types and firmwares differ. 7.09 for SV3s with additional TV output and 8.00 or 6.01 for others.

To a point Jay as the SV3 was manufactured in two different batch types. Last batch of SV3s would tend to reboot with V8.00 and hence 7.09 Beta was administered. First batch SV3s "should" work with V8.00 or 6.01, 7.05 caused some problems due to different tuner drivers.

Apologies I even get confused to this day with firmware and model types when it comes to the Super, due to the amount of chopping and changing. BTW seems that the PVR firmware is also been looked at again.

Yes if your dealing with so many people at one time then it can be confusing, so basically the v8.00 could give problems on the second batch, if so change over to 7.09...confusion creeping in again..how would you tell the difference between S/3 and Super
