Hi guys, Im just getting started in flashing these modems. I have a max232 3.3v cable and all the neccessary files (ambitool, tftp32, the inifinite firmware, etc.) What happens is I dont get the option to enter 'p' and get to the main menu to flash the firmware.

I have tried using am(cho)bit tool to flash original firmware back seeing how Im reckoning these modems have been updated. When I used he ambitool with my ethernet I get 'TCP connection error' and when I try using max232 I get 'serial connection failure' .

Here are details of the modems firmware as is:

Cable Modem : DOCSIS 1.0/1.1/2.0 Compliant
MAC Address : **:**:**:**:**:**
Serial Number : ************
Boot Code Version : 3.1.6d
Software Version : 2.94.1014
Hardware Version : 1.19

Is there anything I can do with these modems at all? Any help would be much appreciated

Oh and I have also tried reflashing origianl firmware using 2 versions of SoftJTAG but both prgrams crash.

Hi Can Some Help Me Got Sorta The Same Prplem But Nothing At All Coming Up In Hyperterminal

hi guys it look like it had the update if you don't get the p option the only
way to get it up and runing again is to life the tosp chip and flash it with the original firmware or the this soming wrong with your max232 or your com port i could be wrong

i have a 255 ive done evrything the guide has told me to do just when i get to the hyperterminal i do everything there com3 etc etc and then the screen stays blank what other way is there to flash this dam modem?

the only way to flash an updated modem is by removing the tsop48 chip and reprogramming it with a clean dump

UPDATE: there is now a program which can be used to restore the 'p' option on Ambits
