How to update Eurovox ultra?

Hello,

I couldn't find the forum for dreambox, so I am raising my query here, please help me out!

I've a EUROVOX ULTRA 2008 DM500C (I think its similar/ clone to dreambox dm500c)...

When I reboot, the screen that comes up is Digital World Dreams Update 1.6.2.

Of late, I've had to update keys almost everyday manually from Bigmac toolbar.

Could someone kindly guide me as to what I have to do so I don't have to feed in these key changes all the time?

Would flashing it with DWv2.1 image solve the problem of having to update keys all the time or what else do I need to do?

(Any idiot's step by step guide or link to flashing on this box would be much appreciated

Please also share what tools and cables I need in addition to my laptop that is equipped with serial and USB ports.

yes reflash the box with dw v2.1.its available in fta downloads,theres links in one of the threads to the site you can get it from.

you need a null rs232 cable.and just use dreamup.

if you google dreamup youtube you should see a vid of it in action.

i use an original dreambox dm500c and use the dw v2.1 and get all channels bar setanta 1 for some reason.i am in tw.

I found "DigitalWorldz[1].v2.1.for.DM500C.rar". Is this same image?

I get setlanta 1 with my DW1.6 but I am fed up of having to update keys all the time.

Would I NOT need to update keys after I've flashed the image 2.1?

its au,so it autoupdates itself.you must have used an older image that didnt update itself or stoped.that image i have used a while now and it has gone through at least 2 key rolls.so its okay.

they changed keys today as well and no probs.

i dont get setanta one i get the other setanta channels,just an isolated case perhaps.

speaking from experience,with this box all the channels are not categorised,perhaps i am missing something.

basicly i was running pace box's but,the box was at the side of cabinet and was in way,my cabinet is full of consoles.so i got this 500c as it fits nicely on tp of cabinet beside tv.

Are you saying that if I flash my eurovox ultra with "DigitalWorldz[1].v2.1.for.DM500C.rar", I won't need to update with new keys anymore?

you wont have to update them as long as the au (auto update) function of the fw is not passed by the cable company.i assume you are in uk,i am in tw area,i got the dm500c around 1 month ago and there have been several updates with keys,the fw has updated itself with no probs experienced so far.

so i am saying it will until the cable company bypass it,if they ever do and if they do bypass the fw it will just get new fw released again.

I updated my eurovox ultra dm500C with image v2.1. I am getting most channels apart from a few like setlanta (all the variants of setlanta are coming apart from setlanta itself).
Also an Indian channel B4U movies is not coming. I tried restarting EVOCAMd and rebooting the whole system but out of several tries, B4U movies only came out once..
With the previous image 1.6, all of these channels were coming but I was just fed up of having to update keys..
Can anyone help please?
