Default "Waiting for the Response of your Receiver'

We are trying to flash our Eurovox Max Blue box using usb to serial converter- null modem cable, set to Com3, when we try to download the file UFL_Max_BLUE_21_04_08 we get the message waiting for the response of your receiver. We have read all the threads about this problem and tried all the advice given, but still no joy. I am sure we have the correct cables, and have tried using other com ports, now we are tearing our hair out! Can anyone give us any further help Please?

Did you install the driver that came with your USB to serial converter? Also, is the converter set to use COM Port 3 on your PC/laptop

I should have specified that this is set in your Device Manager

Are you also certain that your rs232 cable is a NULL MODEM cable and not a standard/straight thru serial cable (they both look the same but are wired differently).

Unfortunately, USB to serial adapters are very hit and miss when using with these boxes - they work for some but not for others (never worked for me)

Your only other options are

a) borrow a m8's pc that has a serial port on it and you don't need the adapter

b) buy a PCI Serial card for your PC or PCMCIA card if its a laptop so you won't need the adapter

c) if a m8 has the same box (ie a blue) that has the uptodate software, you can copy their box directly to yours via the null modem cable (no need for computer)

Yes Im sure all the cables are the right ones, and everything is set as it should be, but it still wont work. Looks like I'll have to borrow a laptop, I'm certainly not paying £15 for someone else to do it (we have 3 boxes). I don't like to be beaten.
