Try right mouse clicking on your desktop, go to arrange desktop icons and show desktop icons, at least I think this is for XP.
If that fails you could try a system restore: Go to Start, Accessories, System Tools, Syatem Restore and restore your computer to a date before your icons became hidden. |

So when you right click you don't get any menu??? correct, try pressing Ctrl+Alt+Delete all at the same time to see what is running under applications and if it is something more sinister.
Oh by the way XP or vista? Last edited by willin; 13-07-08 at 06:51 PM. Reason: info needed |

First post states Windows XP user so I assume he's running that.
It sounds like you've either dowloaded a nasty piece of malware or your computer system has become corrupted. What anti virus, anti spyware are you running? Run your anti virus, and anti spyware, might be best to do it in safe mode, and see if that finds anything. Are you running Windows XP home? |

If you're computer is clean of viruses, and malware, then the easiest way to repair it is to load Windows again.
Start up your computer Insert your Windows XP Home disk Click to install Let Windows load the initial files and upon re-boot choose to keep installing until you reach the partition stage. It should then inform you that you already have a Windows Operating Syatem, now choose the repair option and continue. You will need the XP license number, which should be on a sticker on your computer. Ensure you have a back up of any important data and if you don't get the repair option at the partition screen stop the installation and try again. Last edited by Mickha; 13-07-08 at 09:18 PM. |
