I got this camera last July and it has added to my life in ways that I hadn't imagined a camera could. Although it's not designed as a "compact class" camera, it's light enough to carry around in my knapsack. Whenever I see something interesting, I just take it out and snap away. I look at pictures sometimes from months ago and I know that I wouldn't recall those days quite as often if I hadn't taken pictures..
Anyway, the E500 is extremely user-friendly. You can switch between scene modes by turning a dial instead of having to go through a menu system like with ultra-compact cameras. When you do need to access the menu system, it is easy to learn. The system's very intuitive. Macro is superb, especially in super-macro mode. You can be just 2.5 cm away from the subject and get crystal clear detail. My brother has the E550, which is 6 MP, but it's missing the super-macro feature, which is a real shame. |
