Which Operating System are you installing?
Do you have a disk, like Windows XP Home? The easiest way is to boot from your CD/DVD by entering the BIOS and changing the first boot up option to boot from your DVD drive. On booting up you should see a message telling you how to enter the BIOS, usually by pressing the delete key or one of the F keys. Please post back with more details of your laptop, as this will aid us to find the correct method of entering the BIOS. Once you have altered the boot up option insert your Windows CD, restart your laptop, and you should see a message telling you to press any key, on your keyboard, to boot up form the disk. Carry on through the load up process and you will finally reach the partition information where you can format your hard drive. I trust you already have everything backed up, including required drivers, as formatting will erase everything. |
