i had the same prob but when hookin up thru usb i swapped the mac for the usb with the ethernet mac in the internal config webpage+it came online fine..had 2 auto-download the usb drivers from windows update 2 work with the modem thru my workin sb5101e in the pc's lan port..this has worked for me on 3 modems runnin haxorware that had the same prob but i dunno if this is a fix 4 any modem that refuses 2 recognise its ethernet connexion?
