if you got a willem programmer that cant take the tsop directly then you will need to buy a zif adaptor that will fit it.usualy willem programmers are supplied with programme used to read the chip on the pc.

heres what the zif adaptor looks like:Item number: 220255852200 just type the number into ebay search.

they are tsop48

i use a willem programmer but,i use it for tsop32 which is the epprom chip inside the hitachi drives supplied in xbox360.

yoiu can read the hex in the programmes buffer but, thee are tutorials around that cover what you should look for.

also i think you have to resolder them back on.

Hello big up, have you sussed the reading of the Atmels yet?

I can't help with the Wellon programmer but hopefully once you have the software for it installed then it should just be a case of selecting the device (probably AT49LV1614) from the menus and pressing the read button. Can't be as difficult as with the Willem as it does not seem to have any dip switches or jumpers to connect...but I might be wrong.

Once you have successfully read both chips, they should be 2mb each I think, then read my thread about the 2000 tsop's from a few days ago and that should get your IRD and BK.

Would be interested to know how you get on with the Wellon...I can read them no probs with Willem but cannot seem to successfully erase or program them More tinkering required perhaps or just faulty chips.

Bilko.
