Channels not updating - FF FF FF FF FF FF

Hi there all

I have a strange problem that someone may have encountered before. I support about 20 boxes, these include starview v1, the box & the box super.

Now, yesterday there seemed to be an update and all boxes apart from two updated, these were starview 1. These are not clones and have the latest software.

When I looked into it one was updating and then failing to find the channel and one just kept saying bad signal or channel. These had both updated perfectly well until yesterday. The EMU was on, I did a factory reset, reloaded software etc etc and nothing sorted it out for an auto roll.

I then decided just to put the keys in manually and this was when I found that 00 had updated fine but 01 had FF FF FF FF FF FF FF all over the screen. Inputting keys manually sorted this out.

Has anyone come across this before?

when you were putting the keys in Manually did you go past your provider, ive seen this before when i was doing keys and all that showed up was FF FF on all the keys, also did you press Reset Default key before exit

Hi there

No, I did not go past the provider, but what I did notice was that the person had been messing about with it and deleted some of the providers i.e. chorus, c&w and the 1st provider was TW.

Have not heard of the reset default key before, what is this? should I be pressing it before anything else?

When your in the CAS system you will see Set Default Key above the EMU, press this when the EMU is on,this should sort your problem out hopefully, yes ive seen before also when some one has messed the box up

Thanks for that info, I will give it a bash and see what happens! I did warn them about playing about with it, the problem is they are techno phobes and just don't want to learn about anything!

Hi Guy's, This was a great thread to find, I didn't fk with the key's or anything on star view 3 super but it still gave me the same problem with the ffffffffffff syndrome but followed the advice and hey presto it's sorted out. I appreciate all the help. Take care, Be safe oz...
