hi iv only just got my virgin modem. and iv read and got some guides for the ambit 250. im not a technophobe or anything.

but i must admit am very new to this thing.

just a few things i need to ask. is it possible to configure this 256 modem?or would it be easiest to buy a modified 250ambit modem from the internet?and apparently also a cable?

im sorry theres just so much to take in. if sum1 could just clarify what i need. i actually work in connectivity support so i do have some idea what i need.

hi m8 i don't think the 256 you would be better geting a 250 m8

umm i have a 255 model no: e08c007 and i cant find anything on this can it be flashed? cheers

255 is same as 250, but 256 you will have to do your research on that one

im new @ this & have a quick question 2 ask ..iv just got a ambit 250 off the flea market, & if i look underneath it theres some stickers. & a bar code, well under the bar code it says ( ntl: 250 MAC:**.**.**.**.**.**) i take it this is the mac of the modem ? iv not pluged anything into 2 it yet im just trying 2 find a few thigs out first thanks

iv just made a post about modding a 256...iv got sum software wich is able to change ur mac and config files etc but if u read my thread ull kno i dont kno how to use the program. most help files for it r rather confusing

geforcefx mate, dont plug an un modded modem into the cable feed.
its possible it could take the new bootloader update and you wil not be able to mod it
it takes away the p option

@ racky m8, im running a modded modem now, but a m8 did it for me ! i want to have a go @ doing them myself, will it interfeir with the one that iv got, if i connect them to the same comp , or do ou just plug the erthnet & power cable in ..first .. ( i just dont want 2 mess this modded one up, .........thank;s guys

it shouldnt mess it up.could do with chaging your nic mac before u play about with it and writting down the mac in use now n change it back when ur done tampering
