Default SKY HD Sub

Hey guys, i want to upgrade from my existing Sky Pacakge up to HD so i can get the Sports HD. Do i get a new card sent, or do Sky just upgrade it as if you were to purchase sententa over the satellite feed? Also, i don't wish to purchase one of their HD Recievers as they are unreliable and have another, will they send an enginer out to upgrade the LNB and give me a new box, which i don't need, its totally pointless!

They do upgrade OTA, but I doubt they will give you a HD subscription without having a HD box.

The HD box is £150 and the standard upgrade fee is £60. Sky certainly won't supply you a box on it's own without installation.

Surely, if you already have an Sky HD box, you just ring them up, ask them to pair your card to your box and arrange to pay the extra subs?

No Robbo71 i have another HD Reciever and would like to run the Sky HD Sub on it without paying for them to come and install a hd box lol that i don't need and charge me for it! Might be better purchasing a Card for a year from a dealer maybe?

I have read posts of people getting special deals on HD upgrades, by ringing S*y and threatening to cancel their subscription.
You might be better off trying this route first if they will not upgrade without their own installation.

Remember, if you're using a receiver like the TM6900, it may not work with Sky Cards forever.
