HELP! Kein system? Flashing advice needed!

Hello all,

Right trying to update my sagem Dbox2, followed step by step instuctions to the best i could on this Vista laptop. Someone said sagems are mostly 1 x chipset so i went to try the blade image after a recommendation.

Did try using the checkflash program (thank you plasterer) but always getting the same message, "Component 'mswinsck.ocx' .... not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid" so i went to try the 1x anyway if it didnt work id have a go with the 2x.

Anyhow, flashed succesfully and dbox will reboot message came up, then all i get on the LCD screen is a bit of burb and at the bottom "kein system"

I did foolishly try and flash it all wirelessly through my router, and i am using vista if that makes a difference. I now have a brand new RJ45 crossover cable and am directly connected.

Had a go with the IFA program posted, (thanks Rodboy) but it just hangs on the dbox 2 image flashing page.

Help please, my missus is killing me for loosing all TV!

loading the wrong img will give you 'Kein System' use ure rj45 thru a router and flash a 2x img using ifa

Yes mate the box is a 2x this is why it says kein system. Try & find dbox ifa flashing assistant & use the lan to flash it, you will find it much easier, good luck

WOOHOO!! managed to get blade onto it.

In the end i found an old lappy with XP on it. just connected to it with an IFA and a crossover cable. took a while but worked! However...

The channels are in a complete mess. Got some movies, a discovery channel and as always the adult ones. So i started a service scan, left it while i went to the cinema and when i came back it was still running? didnt look like it had found anything at all.

Im thinking, do i need to update the keys before a service scan?

Im also thinking i might go back to the sportster style image i had before, seems to be a lot more responsive than blade.

I sometimes used to look forward to getting a kein system, only for a challenge.

I dont use Vista but you need to set up for IP v4. IFA will sort you out mate so stay calm as there is plenty of help available.

My good mate plasterer will sort you out with the flashing with IFA and Vista instructions coz he is a superstar and I am still a junior superstar,lol

any advice why i cant pick up any channels when scanning. I want to rescan since VM took over from NTL and the channels have changed. i do have some channels coming through so i know ive got signal.

have u set ur location? if so is there a command to slow scan - try lincsats it's the dogs but u will need to tranfer the k*ey file over
