Default Eurovox EX5000 hard drive problem

Hi guys,
I received my Eurovox EX5000 this morning and i have a problem with the hard drive, i cant get it to so anything! Its a 120gb Seagate Momentus 5400.3 and it came with the box. Came with FTA channels only so i flashed the box with version 1.0 ST4 July 10 2008.
When i hit the record button on the remote it says "Hard drive is full or not installed". The same thing comes up if i press pause.
If i try to record through the EPG it accepts the request and when the time comes it switches over to the channel but then comes up with " No recording to play or no hard drive installed".
Can anyone help??
Cheers.

Do you have the HDD pushed firmly into place - be careful you don't bend any pins!

Yes m8. Wont go in any further. Been trying it since 11am this morning.
I get the same error messages with the drive in or out!

Have a look at the end of the HD where the pins are, is there some of the black housing covering some or all the pins, if so then your HD is not going in the full way.
Some HD''s have this protection over the pins and it prevents the HD being pushed fully home.

You have 2 options:
1) Get a HD without this protection e.g. a Western Digital HD
2) Carefully remove the black metal part using a tool such as a Dremel, which then allows it to be pushed fully home.

Hi, I have the Seagate Momentus 5400.3 hdd and the pins on the drive are all exposed, not covered by any plastic. However I just looked inside the box and the drive terminal at the back appeared loose so i pressed it down, plugged the drive back in and got some activity for the first time but i am still getting the same message "hard drive full or not installed".
Think it will have to go back to the shop !

Hi, I looked through the holes in the top of my box with a torch and saw that there were 2 screws missing from the top of the hard drive terminal so it was loose so it wasnt seeing the drive properly. Have sent it back to the shop on the 23rd July to be tested, so im no further on really. Will post when i eventually hear from the shop !
